Professor of Animal Health, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universidad Complutense de Madrid José Manuel Sánchez-Vizcaíno Rodríguez will be named tomorrow, 22, doctor honoris causa by the University of Murcia.

Through its research, Professor Sánchez-Vizcaino has contributed to the control of African swine fever, African horse sickness and classical swine fever.

As a result, has received awards and decorations, most notably the Medal of Merit of the World Organization for Animal Health, the highest award in the field of Animal Health and Veterinary.

The event will be held at 12:00 am in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Espinardo Campus, and is led by the rector, José Antonio Cobacho, while the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Antonio Rouco will act as sponsor of the new doctor.
