More than 3,800 schools, 30 centers in the municipality, have what is known about disability through the program "Integration is a sport ', which carries out the Department of Youth, directed by María Dolores Sánchez, and the National Association Adapted Sports (ANDA).
This activity is aimed at young people between 12 and 18 years and focuses on prevention and integration of disability and knowledge of it, using the example of adapted sports.
Youth participate in two practice sessions, one on management and mask white cane, crutches or wheelchair and another on adapted sports, athletics adapted crutches football, badminton, basketball and sitting volleyball.
Students become familiar with the objects used by people with disabilities and later adapted sports practice.
María Dolores Sánchez stressed "the importance of social awareness project that allows young people aware of disability, and continuing with the Department's commitment to removing barriers and promoting equality."
Through these activities students are capable of sensitizing persons with disabilities and put in place for these people.
The City has been working with this project since 2007.
