The City Council has approved the call for proposals to promote grassroots sport in the municipality.

This call is aimed at clubs, associations and sports federations.

This is sports entities to be responsible for initiating sports programs (school sports), equipment maintenance in federated competitions and competitions, sports events and events of interest.

Institutions may submit their applications within 30 calendar days following the publication of the notice in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM).

The Sports Council will assess the projects that are specifically sports activities in villages of Murcia, the involvement of disadvantaged young people with fewer opportunities, number of beneficiaries, used municipal facilities, sports technical employees, participation in school sport activities and lack or similar activity deficit, interest of the activity, benefits to the population of the municipality and projects to expand social and recreational impact.

Support Handball

Likewise, the Consistory supports the practice of handball with the grant award for this season Handball Club Murcia.

The aid was intended to encourage the practice of female handball and maintenance of the Club's first team in the First Division Handball Women's National.
