The Bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Bishop José Manuel Lorca Planes, has presided over a Mass this morning with the local police in Murcia, on the occasion of the feast of its patron, Saint Patrick.
The ceremony took place at the Cathedral of Murcia and has been attended by the Mayor of Murcia, D.
Miguel Angel House, members of the municipal corporation and Security Corps personnel.
The Cathedral Chapter and some diocesan priests have accompanied the bishop in the celebration.
Before the Eucharist, a procession took place inside the cloister of the cathedral with the image of St. Patrick.
In his homily, Bishop Lorca Planes thanked the police work, which in one case more than cost them their lives.
Encouraged them to use as a model to its patron, who face the difficulties and hardships, always responded with loyalty to God and not lose hope.
"The force that motivated him to not back down was to see the love of Jesus Christ and the donation of his own life" - he pointed out.
It has also indicated that "when you live in these values and know that being faithful to God will be held at the difficulties, it is worth the adventure."
Finally, Mr. Bishop has expressed hope that the lives of these people who ensure the safety of others continue to bear fruit and have been asked to achieve "the grace of a job well done."
