Councillor UI + LV in Murcia, Esther Herguedas, has called a "fiasco" the project of rehabilitation of the district of La Paz and has accused the local mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, to "sponsor a sorry sight" to the Forum Eurocities Social Affairs.
Herguedas has indicated that the record of that project does not include the implementation of any social policy that allows residents of La Paz "not only to access adequate housing, but also engage in the city with full rights."
"Indeed, until now the only social action that was executed at the cost of the demolition project was unjustified and criminal proceedings are terminated by one of the few preschools in the municipality, which is all a symptom," he Apostille the mayor.
In this sense, explained that "in all places where similar projects have been completed, the performance was directed and coordinated from the public initiative" so that "to qualify the project for a private developer as a social initiative is a contradiction" .
He added that "no surprise" that to talk about the recovery effort for Peace in the Eurocities Forum "is to hire the services of a clown that said four nonsense without sense or connection with the reality of the project and tried to play a role reassuring to the neighbors, "referring to the architect Ricardo Bofill.
"Yesterday we made a fool of European representatives who attended a string of blunders, but the worst of this show is that it was sponsored by the city of Murcia, an institution that should be serious and rigorous."
According to the mayor left, "no one could understand how some neighbors to leave their fate could be considered a municipal policy action, perhaps because it gives the mayor no longer face while going to maintain this charade."
