Ana Botella, who has lectured on 'Development and Solidarity', stressed that "unfortunately ideas as solidarity and development aid are often associated with extreme poverty, or extremely traumatic events.
Also added that disasters like the recent earthquake in Haiti, "wake up momentarily good feelings and take the best of a society in which there are sometimes indifferent to what happens to others.

The rapporteur has asserted that true solidarity "is more deep rooted in us, is, or should be, a lasting commitment in time, it is assumed thoughtfully, fully conscious," he qualified.
Dignity. The deputy mayor, has highlighted the fundamental value of dignity of human life from the moment of conception until natural death.
"Only on this basis, can be constructed to develop a more humane society," he assured.
Similarly, on the dignity of persons, Ana Botella said that for this value, people "can not be used as a means for any purpose or be currency, its freedom, fundamental rights, especially their own life are not negotiable. "
Ana Botella ended the conference by highlighting the work of the Catholic University in the integral development of academics and practitioners in the field of volunteerism.
