The Deputy Mayor of Education and Personal, Pilar Megía, this morning attended the opening of the Third Culture Week IES José Plans hamlet of Espinardo, a week that is specially marked by the celebration of 25 anniversary of establishment of the center .
The event was attended by the Chancellor of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, and School Board President of the Region of Murcia, Luis Navarro, among other regional and local authorities.
On the occasion of the Third week culture, the center includes an exhibit on 25 years of Nobel Prizes, plus they wanted to pay tribute to the sculptor of Murcia, Espinardo born José Planes.
The opening ceremony also served to unveiling the plaque of the new real-time sundial shining in the courtyard of the center.
This clock features three key elements:
The globe.
Mother Earth together with its satellites and showing the path of the sun solstices and equinoxes.
The board.
Primary means of transmission of knowledge.
Books.
Traditional media where such knowledge is stored as is the 25 year history of the IES José Planes.
