The Joint Commission Regional Assembly-Real Academia Alfonso X el Sabio and the University of Murcia are the organizers of this exhibition which, through drawings and other photographic material, reflects the importance of water for the Region of Murcia and the techniques involved for best use.
The president of the Regional Assembly of the Region of Murcia, Francisco Celdran, said at the opening ceremony the success of this show in all the places that has passed, an exhibition that teaches people the effort of Murcia along the story get water.
To Celdran, the traditional elements for the use of water as the canals, mills, wells or dams, and institutions like the advice of good men, are an important asset of our natural and cultural heritage.
The display of this material at the university, said the chairman of the Assembly, it is important to anchor in the new generations the significance of water to this land.
The rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho, noted that the dryness and lack of rain that has always suffered from Murcia has acted as a spur to our ancestors tried to overcome this difficulty with all types of actions designed to make the most possible for stunted available flows.
Cobacho defined the history of the Region of Murcia as the history of water, a chronicle of his relationship with this item and its constant attempts to overcome the water deficit.
In this sense, the president expressed the appreciation of the institution directed by the law passed yesterday at the Regional Assembly for the Tajo-Segura.
At the opening ceremony was attended by regional representatives, members of the Real Academia Alfonso X el Sabio, the rector of University Extension, Francisco Guillermo Diaz, and the curator of the exhibition, the staff of the University of Murcia and editor of the Campus Pascual Vera.
