Murcia University today opened five hiking trails on the campus of Espinardo, facilitated by physical exercise and bring the natural environment and environment of this university space.
The first route, the "healthy path of the 10,000 steps a day is a journey of 4.7 kilometers long and will help anyone interested to walk the 10,000 steps a day (8 km away) that experts recommend to prevent emergence of diseases such as diabetes, osteoporosis or cardiovascular disease.
Besides this, the Vice President for Business and Infrastructure has created another four - "botanical route of the forest area of North Park, Lomas scenic route of the wheel", "Animal Farm route" and "renewable energy path" - they present a significant scenic, cultural and environmental.
The forest area of North Park goes through this haven of flora and fauna and other parts of the campus, while the journey through the hills of the gunpowder is a superb landscape of the campus observatory.
The trails are complemented by a path that leads to the Veterinary Teaching Farm of the University, located in Guadalupe, and other visiting renewable energy facilities that have been implemented under the project of sustainable campus.
The five routes start from the Plaza of Sustainability and possess elements of interpretation and approach to the environment.
Footpaths, trails and tracks of the routes where possible avoid transit through stretches of road and have security measures in areas that pose some risk.
Angel Martinez, president of the Caja Mediterráneo Territorial Council, an organization that has participated in the financing of the initiative, reiterated the commitment at the opening of the savings to the environment and the development of the natural heritage of the region.
Pablo Fernandez, general manager of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity of the Autonomous Community, welcomed the incorporation of these routes to the "magnificent" network of trails in the region of Murcia.
The rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, closed the ceremony by recalling that the trails are open to any citizen of Molina de Segura Murcia and the municipalities in which the campus is Espinardo.
Both Cobacho, as the Vice Chancellor for Business and Infrastructure, Antonio Calvo-Flores, stressed that the main purpose of these roads is to promote physical exercise for disease prevention.
