In 2016 a Spanish city and a Polish city will share the title of European Capital of Culture.
In the race for the candidacy, the Spanish cities that are competing with each other, while the Polish candidates are also fighting among themselves.
As one of the main aims of the European Capital of Culture is to highlight the richness of cultural diversity in Europe and to emphasize the common aspects of European cultures, Murcia is working with the Polish city of Gdansk to carry out joint or collaborative projects between their respective nominations.
Murcia 2016, which had already established contacts with the School of Art and Design and Regional Partnership Workshop of Jewelry, Silverware and Jewellery (JOPLABI) to work in the crafts section of the draft nomination, has agreed to work with Gdansk 2016 in this area.
