The I Olympiad was held in Geology of the Region of Murcia (12/02/2010)

The Social Center of the University of Murcia has hosted the Olympics in Geology I, which participated about 200 students from 18 secondary education institutes in the Region of Murcia.

Following the inauguration of the competition, which featured presentations by representatives of the University of Murcia and Cartagena Polytechnic, held the theory and practical tests to choose the three regional winners, who participate in the national Olympiad.

This, which is organized by the Association for the Teaching of Earth Sciences, the Geological Society of Spain and the Association of Geologists, will be held on 27 and 28 in Madrid.

In addition, the Social Center at the University of Murcia exposed to 26 February an exhibition of photographs geology of the Spanish Association for the Teaching of Earth Sciences, which has been coordinated by Pau Renard, Benicalap IES (Valencia) .

After completing the test, participants made a visit to the museum of outdoor rocks situated in the garden of volunteering Espinardo campus.
