The government team of the City of Murcia, ruled by the Popular Party opposes the attempt to eliminate a hallmark of Murcia as emblematic of the Sacred Heart of Jesus located in Monteagudo, Murcia considered by one of the symbols valued in our town.
In this advocacy and support to keep the symbols of identity of Murcia, the Governing Board today approved outside the agenda, urging the competent authority to declare the Monteagudo Christ as a Cultural (BIC).
The Board has agreed to use all necessary means to uphold and protect the cultural heritage of Murcia and guard against any tampering.
Thus, the request for a declaration of BIC of this monument reflects the interest of protecting it in its present location.
