The initiative is reflected in the Strategic Plan 'Totana Grow 2013', a document that lays the foundation for the development of the municipality for the coming years.
The agreement's main objective is to meet the scientific and technical needs and training of companies based in the future Mediterranean Food City (CIAM), primarily through the scientific support of the Department of Food Technology and Nutrition of the University.
Notably, the agreement includes the establishment of the Campus Food, an environment for innovation and training, which will provide common platforms for training, research and development between the Catholic University and companies, developing technical aids, services and innovative solutions society.
The UCAM, in collaboration with the city of Totana, develop specific activities with firms in the CIAM, such as scientific-technical and academic, or host students for the completion of the practicum, among others.
The agreement was signed by the president of Catholic University, José Luis Mendoza, and the Mayor of Totana, José Martínez has stressed that this initiative rests on three pillars: "the installation of a Special Industrial Park, the construction of a logistics center and the development of training and research through a Campus Food. "
