Murcia City Council has approved the project for the construction of new sports hall Cagigal.
This new sports area will have a sports deck and bleachers for up to a thousand spectators.
Thus, the facility will host sporting federation multidisciplinary (handball, football, basketball, badminton) and municipal schools sports.
Also, cover the capacity gap between Prince Hall, with capacity for 500 spectators, and the Prince of Asturias flag, with a capacity of 3,500.
In addition, this facility will complement the sporting activities in the area.
The new Cagigal will have female and male changing rooms for referees, hall, warehouse and other areas necessary for the proper functioning of the installation.
The pavilion will occupy the same area as the old Cagigal, which was demolished in 2008 because the facility was badly damaged.
The planned investment in the sports infrastructure is 3 million euros.
The City has submitted the draft to the State Fund for Employment and Local Sustainability.
