The Minister of Universities and Research Company, Salvador Marin, and the mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, signed this morning an agreement to boost up to 26 million square feet of quality industrial land for the settlement of business and investment projects generate jobs.
Specifically, the agreement signed today between the Ministry, through the Institute of Development and Public Land Society and Business Equipment in the Region of Murcia (Seremur), and the Consistory provides for the establishment of two separate plans for the complex of Economic Activities , Endowments and Industrial (CAEDI) West and the strategic reserve of land for economic activities near the new airport.
It also addresses the dynamic of industrial land in the vicinity of the hamlet of Glen Hermosa Murcia and the reactivation of some industrial sectors located in different districts of the municipality.
Councilor Salvador Marín said that the signing of this agreement "is to plan and develop high quality industrial land and attract new investment projects that generate employment."
The performance is part of the regeneration strategy of industrial land from the Ministry for Development, jointly with the municipalities, large areas of economic activity and ensure that the region has in the short, medium and long term adequate soil in quality and in quantity, to the productive sectors.
This strategy, the Department conducted through Seremur info and also includes the promotion of improved infrastructure and equipment management and estates and business parks.
The work to be performed under the agreement will be considered a technical document analysis, diagnosis and recommendations for management, infrastructure, integration and environmental sustainability, as well as proposals for economic and financial management that are most appropriate.
Specifically, actions are focused in large areas of industrial land classified in the General Urban Plan of Murcia.
Development activities
The CAEDI West has an area of 10.5 million square meters, of which four million are already urbanized (Polígono Industrial Oeste, Centro de Murcia Integrated Transport and Industrial Park West) and that added a new range of 6, 5 million square meters.
As for the master plan for areas surrounding the new airport, is working on a performance flooring business activities of 13 million square meters in a project in the medium and long term.
"This area, located in the Murcia-Cartagena axis, is called to be a reference center for logistics and international business recruitment for its excellent communications and proximity to the airport," said Marin.
