The Ministry of Agriculture and Water, through the General Directorate of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, invites media to participate in activities marking the World Day of Environmental Education, to be held tomorrow at 10:30 am in the workshop of Nature 'El Valle' (Centro Regional Park Visitor Carrascoy El Valle, La Alberca Road-El Valle).
The conference will be attended by the Director General of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, Pablo Fernández.
It will start with a visit to the photo exhibition 'Dive into the woods and discover the Nature Classroom. "
Subsequently held a series of activities and games for Environmental Education with the participation of children, which will conclude at 12:30 pm with a visit to the Arboretum.
The journalists, in addition to taking pictures and interviews, are also invited to participate in such activities.
The purpose of this meeting is to inform the important work done for five years the Network Programme Classrooms of the Nature of the Region of Murcia in the field of environmental awareness.
World Day of Environmental Education has been held in many countries since it was first instituted in Sweden.
Its main objective is to ensure the active participation of institutions and the community in the conservation process, taking into account the complexity of the environment and responsibility towards present and future generations.
Environmental education emerged formally in 1972 with the Stockholm Declaration, the priority was to raise awareness among world leaders about the magnitude of environmental problems.
