The acquisition, labor and equipment has cost the municipality of 1.1 million euros

The former headquarters of the Guardia Civil de Santo Angel reopens its doors to serve all residents of the hamlet.
The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, inaugurated this morning the new municipal center, which highlights both the uniqueness of the building, which has remained part of the structure, as to become the property of reference for cultural and social activities in the locality.
The center, which has a total area of 1,700 m2, has a room free Internet access, meeting facilities for multiple uses, a study room and classroom workshop.
Also, the Municipal Board, chaired by Jose Gallardo, have their offices in the building.
It also offers the feature of maintaining the old courtyard, with an area of 400 m2, can be used for outdoor activities.
Holy Angel's neighbors meet in the Civic Center a classroom free Internet access (WALA) with 16 computers, 2 printers, Internet access, wireless technology, Office programs, along with a study room for center users with availability to 24 students.
The opening of these facilities has been a cost to the City of 1,177,000 euros, including the purchase of the property, construction and equipment.
The City paid in 2003 the Ministry of Interior more than 237,000 euros for the building, which had for years been abandoned.
The acquisition, which occurred in order to meet the need of the parish facilities was carried out before it went to auction sale.
The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, was accompanied at the opening by the President of the Municipal Board, Jose Gallardo, and council members Adela Martinez-Cacho, Jose Arce and Rafael Gomez, among others.
Music, film and cultural events
The center started the first municipal course with a broad program of cultural dissemination and training.
The latter includes workshops on various topics related to arts, visual, performing and introduction to computers and singing, among others.
On draft cultural outreach activities, the residents of St. Angelo will have at its disposal schedules music, performing arts, exhibitions of subjects related to the visual arts (photography, painting, ceramics and sculptures), activities to encourage reading and literary, theatrical performances, exhibitions, films, cultural events and cultural weeks of leisure.
As usual, the municipal center will be open to the participation of associations and schools.
Visit the elderly and the Plaza del Charco
Before presiding over the inauguration of the municipal center, the mayor has moved to larger social center of St. Angelo.
Besides visiting the facilities where expansion works have been carried out, took a few minutes to share with partners.
Then the mayor went to the Plaza del Charco, which recently started operating an ornamental fountain, with a system of lights and sound, as already exists in the Plaza Circular of Murcia, which also has a novel method water reuse.
Along with the construction of this source, the City undertook a series of actions to improve environmental conditions in the garden.
Specifically, the replacement was the floor of the playground and the installation of more facilities for children.
