The Chapel of the Rosary neighbors have started the year debuting a new senior center that was opened this morning by the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara.

The inhabitants of this area have been solved and an aspiration that had to be provided with adequate facilities to meet their needs.

Until now, most of Ermita del Rosario had been using a shared premises with other associations and neighborhood groups.

From this point, have at their service a new building of almost 400 m2, distributed over two floors, located on Avenida del Rosario.

The opening has been made possible thanks to the investments promoted by the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, to continue building, expanding or rehabilitating the social centers for the elderly, now the network consists of 77 centers, "where they can perform their activities, enjoy a space of coexistence and participation.

In this case, the investment amounted to 518,000 euros.

The Mayor was joined at the opening by the Social Welfare Deputy Mayor, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, the presidents of the Municipal Councils of The Open and Barrio del Progreso, Juan José Belando and Josefa Martínez, respectively, and the president of the Association Senior Ermita del Rosario, Jose Crespo Martínez.

The center has two floors and includes among its facilities include a cafeteria, kitchen, hall, reading room, multipurpose room, office, store room, physiotherapy, podiatry, hairdressing and terrace.

The 200 members who are members of the association will now have a larger place where you can practice a full program of activities organized by the Department of Social Welfare.

In addition to becoming an ideal place for living of seniors, their users will participate this year in a gerontogimnasia course, a workshop on Natural Remedies and cultural trips subsidized by the City.
