Professor, Faculty of Chemistry José Manuel Espinosa Palazón today took over as University Ombudsman University of Murcia in a ceremony presided by the rector, José Antonio Cobacho.
Espinosa Palazón case in the position to also Augustine Miñana chemistry professor, who has acted as Legal Counsel for the past eight years.
The new University Ombudsman, who took office in the building "Rector Soler", where is located the headquarters of the Ombudsman, in his speech set the principles for acting as a guarantor of rights and freedoms of the university community who will be the independence, impartiality, independence, transparency, dialogue and common sense.
José Manuel Palazón recalled his many years of experience as an advocate for the rights of teachers will serve in his new position, which strongly seek solutions to all conflicts and propose improvements in the functioning of university life.
Finally, he referred to the importance of having support from all members of the University and the governing bodies for the work of an ombudsman to be effective.
The rector, José Antonio Cobacho, had a fond remembrance for Palazón ancestors, teachers Maria Carmen Sanchez-Rojas and Miñana Augustine, and was pleased that happens a person like José Manuel Palazón, who said that guarantees good performance common sense and continuity with the work already done.
