The coordination bureau municipal district directs the regeneration of the Holy Spirit of Espinardo through the URBAN project, financed by the ERDF and the city of Murcia, has held its last meeting before the end of this year.
The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Policy Equality and Citizenship, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin and Fátima Barnuevo, Councillor for Culture and European Programmes, and was attended by all technicians from the different municipal councils involved in the project are participating in the implementation of various measures.
The meeting of the Coordinating Bureau focused on the establishment of priorities for the year 2010 in regard to urban rehabilitation, as well as in the analysis of proposals for the First Meeting of Citizenship to be held in late January.
Pelegrin and Barnuevo, as presidents of the working group agreed on the importance of citizen participation in the Urban Development Plan and the future of the neighborhood of the Holy Spirit.
For this reason, and to complement the work being carried out within the Social Participation Forum, composed of municipal coordination bureau and the various associations and groups that have participated in the drafting of the project and are doing in execution, will be another step in the process of communication and participation so that the meeting will facilitate the presence and reporting of more neighborhood residents.
The conclusion of the meeting is the implementation of a support structure and improves the network of associations to promote the participation of residents in the regeneration of the district at all stages of the process.
In addition, this will create a stable structure partnerships beyond the term of this plan.
The City provides that participation in the meeting more than 150 neighbors, both individually and those that are partnerships or groups.
Participants will be divided among different axes of the plan and levels of prior knowledge of the project and will be there when people bring their ideas and comment on proposals to regenerate this flagship municipal district of Murcia.
In this way, the neighbors will know first hand the plans for urban redevelopment and environment as the main measures of cultural and social.
In this First Meeting of Public Participation will be analyzed, especially the proposals for the year 2010, among which the construction of a sports arena, the intervention of the environment Cultural Center and the implementation of social and training employment.
