The Mayor stressed the need for a grand bargain between the major political parties to address the financing of municipalities
The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, the Government Delegate, Rafael González Tovar, and the Secretary of State for Cooperation, Gaspar Zarrías, this morning visited three works in the northern city of Murcia, by the State Investment Fund Local.
The concrete works are the new access infrastructure Polígono El Tiro, the northern access to the Condomina and the access bridge to La Condomina, which substantially improve traffic access to North Campus of Espinardo, the shopping area and the football stadium.
The works are further steps in improving road communications, which adds the construction of both the North and South and Coastal Alternative Sangonera La Verde, according to the agreement signed between the Autonomous Region and the Municipality of Murcia .
The need to address mobility solutions from a global approach, taking into account the new concept of urban quality and not only by specific responses to urban transport is one of the key features that inform the Sustainable Mobility Plan of the Municipality of Murcia, which also includes the implementation of the tram, reorganization or drive traffic to bike lanes.
Mayor House has also proposed during the visit, the conclusion of a grand bargain between the Party and the Spanish Socialist Workers Party for the start of negotiations on the new local funding, in order to ensure stable and adequate funding for corporations premises, in accordance with the provisions of the Spanish Constitution, articulating through their participation in State Law State revenue (PIE) and the Autonomous Communities (SPADES).
