The government invests directly in Murcia Spain 121,389,327 euros between 2009 and 2010 through State Funds
The Secretary of State for Regional Cooperation, Gaspar Zarrías, the Government Delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar and the Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, this morning visited the works that are running in the northern city of Murcia under the Local Investment Fund.
The three works will substantially improve traffic access to North Campus of Espinardo, the new commercial Polígono El Tiro, in this case connecting to the South access to campus and shopping center New Condomina and have made a joint investment of 10,562. 614 euros and the creation of 635 jobs.
The first of the works visited was the new road infrastructure connecting Avenida Juan Carlos I and the southern entrance to the Campus of Espinardo, University of Murcia, also giving access to the Estate Commercial Shot.
This work has had a budget of 5,266,237 euros and create 204 direct jobs.
The work has involved the construction of a new road to communicate the Avenida Juan Carlos I and Round of the University, giving it a bike lane to facilitate access for bikers to the University Campus.
Later, they visited the construction of the new roundabout in Avenida Juan Carlos I to facilitate access to the North Campus of Espinardo, as well as access to the Mediterranean Highway and Road Molina de Segura.
State investment has been of 3,646,701 euros and 285 jobs have been created.
The works have involved the construction of a roundabout to regulate all traffic movements that occur in the area, increasing road safety and the current crossing has a minimum size for the existing high traffic.
Finally, Gaspar Zarrías, González Tovar and House have visited the renovation and doubling of the access bridge to the New Condomina that have been the expansion of the existing bridge, which will now have two lanes, with carbon fiber reinforcements and building also a new dual carriageway adjacent and similar characteristics.
Thus, it greatly improves the traffic between the north and the hamlets of Churra and head of Torres and improved communications with the mall.
In this case, the investment of the Government of Spain has been of 1,649,676 euros and has employed 146 workers directly.
The Government delegate recalled that the Government of Spain assigned to the municipality of Murcia 74,841,430 euros in the current Local Investment Fund, for which the City Council presented a total of 121 construction projects.
In total, the municipality created 3,345 direct jobs, of which 902 are newly created and 2443 of persons within the successful tenderers for the works.
He also reported that so far, the Government of Spain has financed 70 percent of all contracted works, 120 as one of the projects have been abandoned by the city, and has already paid in full, including 30 percent , 48 projects.
The final payment of each project is carried out once the council has the final certificates of works to the Ministry of Land Policy.
With regard to projects submitted by the City of Murcia the Local Investment Fund, the Government Delegate has pointed out that has been allocated EUR 42.3 million in improvements to the road network in Murcia, among which more than 5.3 million euros for the new bridge that connects the Reguerón Sangonera Sangonera La Verde and La Seca, and 19.1 million euros to improve sidewalks and final paving in different neighborhoods and districts of the town.
In addition, it has invested 5 million euros to improve the lighting in various districts of the municipality.
As for sports, has been allocated 7.5 million euros for the installation of artificial turf and construction of new changing rooms in 21 municipal soccer fields.
Also 1.2 million euros for various improvement works in 8 public schools.
Moreover, State Fund is helping to condition and improve the municipality 38 gardens for an amount in excess of 6.6 million euros.
It has also invested 2.3 million euros in the 12.8 miles of bike path that connects the Malecon Garden's Corner Beniscornia and 5.7 million for the burial of 139 points of solid waste containers urban.
González Tovar also recalled investment of 895,000 euros in various improvements to the Cemetery Nuestro Padre Jesus, the reform of the Municipal Auditorium Fofó Park for an amount of 323,000 euros, 427,000 euros for the construction of the new Municipal Library in La Alberca.
As well as 237,000 euros for the new center over the Albatalía and 300,000 euros for the new facility to the Department of Youth.
Finally, the delegate of the Government has reported that the new State Fund for Employment and Local Sustainability to be invested in 2010, will involve a further economic boost for the city of Murcia, for an amount of 46,547,892 euros.
