The Councillor for Youth and Employment, María Dolores Sánchez, handed diplomas to the 48 students who have worked in the first phase of the Workshop School building the Local Police Headquarters of La Alberca.
This initiative is part of the programs of the Department of Youth and Employment.
Specifically, 7 students have been trained in masonry, welding, tiling 7, 8 carpentry, 8 locks and aluminum, 10 plumbing and electricity, and 8 are devoted to comprehensive maintenance of gardens.
These student-workers are between 16 and 25, have left school and are unemployed.
This initiative is intended that these young students are trained, to regain the level of compulsory education who have left and learn a trade to improve their professional skills and social and labor insertion.
The teaching staff and management of this project has been comprised of eleven professionals.
Lola Sánchez pointed out the effort, work and enthusiasm of students and teachers who have participated in this project.
The first phase of this project includes the construction of the structure of the local police station of La Alberca, which is already finished.
The headquarters is being built on city-owned parcel located between the street Carlos Valcárcel in La Alberca and the motorway.
The building has an area of 2,473 square meters, spread over basement, ground floor and three floors.
For the construction of this infrastructure has been used 3,300 tons of concrete, 105 tons of rebar, 1,400 square meters of plaster ceilings, 1,400 square feet of veneer facade with natural stone (travertine) and 1,200 square meters of marble tiles , among many other materials.
It is also accessible to the disabled and has water-saving systems and energy.
This Training Workshop is subsidized by the city of Murcia and the Regional Employment Service and Training of the region.
