The managing director of the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region (IVS), Jane Brown, today visited the neighborhood where Vistabella Murcia autonomous body financed the rehabilitation of roofs and facades of 101 subsidized housing, to improve their and promote integration with the built environment.
"The Ministry, through the IVS, launched in 2000, this course of action in collaboration with the Municipality of the capital, for the regeneration of the districts of La Paz, San Juan, Santa Maria de Gracia and Vistabella, representing directly benefit over 1,500 families Murcia, "said Joan Brown.
It is the restoration of the blocks 5 and 20 Vistabella, 50 and 51 homes respectively.

This project responds to an agreement signed between the Ministry and the Municipality of Murcia in November 2007 for the conservation of ten buildings in the neighborhoods of Vistabella and Santa María de Gracia, worth 811,510 euros from the IVS, 50 percent of the total, the remainder being financed equally by the owners of the property and Murcia Consistory.
According to the managing director said, "the achievement of this work involves completing the regeneration of one of the most traditional areas of the capital.

Other actions
Under this agreement also includes rehabilitation work in blocks of 1 to 8 in the Santa Maria de Gracia, featuring 80 homes and ending with the regeneration project of building housing in both neighborhoods.
Moreover, in early 2010 is planned to commence the first phase of recovery of the facades and roofs of 160 houses in the neighborhood of Los Almendros in the village of La Alberca Murcia, where the IVS make an investment of 1.1 million euros.
