The completion of the tram line 1 and new programs to provide housing for those most in need are the main projects of the Department of Antonio Castillo (16/12/2009)

The Department of Housing and Transport, who heads Antonio Castillo, whose main goals for next year continue to subsidize public transport, complete the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan and implement the tram line 1.

The budget for the Transport area amounts to 9.45 million euros and, although a decrease of 8% compared to 2009, will remain public transport subsidies, subsidizing the ticket as they do today and offering additional discounts pensioners, large families, students, bus pass, etc..

In 2010 it will increase the number of stalls with information systems in real time, reaching 20 points.

Also, it helps keep the 'eurotaxis'.

The main project for 2010 will be the completion of the works of the tram line 1 (which connects Murcia with universities) and its implementation.

This project has an investment of 202 million euros, the biggest in the history of the town, and a generation of 600 direct jobs during 2009 and 2010 and a forecast of 60 permanent jobs for 40 years administrative award.

In 2010 it developed three programs:

Subsidy for rental homes in the free market to members of the municipal register of applicants.

The aid ranges from 900 to 3,000 euros per year, depending on the cost of rent and income.

The applicant for aid is an active part of the solution to your problem, as it seeks to shelter and care about to meet its obligations as a tenant to continue to enjoy the housing and the subsidy.

This new program, in collaboration with Fundown, has been a total success in 2009, helping to achieve collective autonomy of citizens.

Also rehabilitate the roofs and facades of 160 homes in the neighborhood of Los Almendros de La Alberca, this project is funded by the Housing and Land Institute of the Autonomous Region (50%), City Hall (25%) and owners housing (25%).

Work will commence in early 2010.

It will make arrangements with the Housing and Land Institute for the rehabilitation of housing blocks from the old Board 'Francisco Franco', although from the Delegation of the Government response was not obtained on this matter.
