The municipality of Murcia will for the first time in 2010 with over a thousand points of garbage collection.
In particular, we provide 1,020 points, far surpassing European legislation states that you must have a recycling point for every 500 inhabitants.
In addition, we increase the street cleaning service in 21 linear miles, serving 14 kilometers of new areas of the villages and 7 km of new areas on the outskirts of Murcia.
In 2008, the street cleaning service reached 4,031 linear kilometers in 2009 has reached 4,086 linear kilometers and in 2010 is expected to reach more than 4,100 linear miles.
The Department's budget is EUR 45,050,000, an amount similar to last year.
Of the total, 42.2 million was allocated to street cleaning and waste collection, and the rest of the park Terra Natura.
In 2010, although it does not increase the budget, will be extended by reducing services that are less necessary and investing in new services to reach new areas.
Specifically, waste collection extended to reach new developments and will provide service to 10,000 citizens.
This expansion of services will be funded in part with revenue of 1.3 billion euros from the waste treatment plant of Cañada Hermosa for the sale of biogas, and the authorized work for other municipalities that are made in the plant.

Next year the council for street cleaning and waste collection, directed by José Ros, awareness campaigns with the aim that each year recycle Murcia 23.5 kilos of paper and cardboard, 14.05 kilos of glass and 9 5 kilos of packaging.
Among the major projects planned for 2010 is a detailed study under the supervision of archaeologists to bury containers 46 points in the BIC (Cultural Property) from the center of Murcia.
