The auditorium of the University of Murcia, Campus de la Merced, hosts 14, 15 and 16 December the First International Congress of Victimology and Latin American Human Rights victimale, which opened on Monday, the rector, José Antonio Cobacho at 10 : 00 hours.
In the opening ceremony, the Foundation of Victimology, organizer of the Congress, will present the International Award of Victimology and Victim Advocacy 2009, whose winners included Professor of Criminal Law at the University of Murcia Jaime Peris.
Monday's session 14 provides presentations of the Ombudsman in the Region of Murcia, José Pablo Ruiz Abellán, and President of the Institute of Human Rights of Brazil, César Barros, who will speak on Latin American prison system.
Also has scheduled a roundtable on the criminological aspects of Mexico and Argentina.
The honorary presidency of the Congress held by the Queen of Spain and is the professor of the University of Murcia Pedro Ángel Rubio as scientific director.
