The government team has taken a step towards the full rehabilitation of the neighborhood of the Holy Spirit Espinardo.
The Board of Governors approved a project for the demolition of 17 houses owned by the municipality.
On the site where it is located houses are built a sports center for neighborhood residents and local schools, as required by the Urban Plan.
Most of the families who lived in that block have already been rehoused in social housing in the area, and the council is finalizing the location of the rest.
This project is part of the Urban Initiative, an ambitious plan that will improve the quality of urban environment and living conditions of citizens in the area, provides, inter alia, the construction of a sports hall, rehabilitation of major neighborhood's public spaces, expanding the Social Services Centre and the creation of a center of artistic and creative as well as a cultural incubator.
The Urban Plan involves overall investment of more than 10 million euros.
