The socialist mayor María Dolores Abellon file a motion in plenary next Thursday asking the PP which requires the regional government as soon as possible to sign the agreement with the Ministry of Education for implementation of the Programme School 2.0 in the Region of Murcia.
This initiative, said Abellon, is a firm commitment to quality education and a way to ensure equal resources for all students Murcia.
The twenty-first century digital classrooms
2.0 The Schools Program, recalls the PSOE Councillor, driven by the Government of Spain, is committed to the use of new technologies as a language to learn and to teach, complementing the usual means.
His goal, he adds, is the transformation over the next four years, from traditional classes 5 and Primary 6 and 1 and 2 of Secondary digital classrooms equipped with whiteboards and wireless Internet, where the teacher have a laptop and students in turn will work with ultra portable personal computer.
Finally, reports Abellon, the program is defined and budgeted for the 2009-2010 school year at 200 million euros and 50% financed by the Government of Spain and the Autonomous Communities.
