From Monday to Sunday 15 November, I celebrate the European Week of Cystic Fibrosis.
For this reason, the Basketball Club Murcia has expressed solidarity with the 'Association Cystic Fibrosis Murcia' and has posed with bracelets commemorating this initiative.
The aim is to improve the quality and life expectancy of people with the disease.
What is cystic fibrosis?
It is the great unknown.
It is a chronic disease is a genetic disorder that affects areas of the body that produce secretions, leading to a thickening and decreased water content, sodium and potassium, giving rise to blockage of the channels that carry these secretions and allowing the infection and inflammation produce stagnation that destroy areas of the lung, liver, pancreas and reproductive systems mainly, being necessary in many cases of organ transplantation.
It is estimated that there is a case of every 2500 live births, being healthy carriers of every 25 inhabitants.
