The doctoral thesis presented at the Faculty of Informatics, University of Murcia by Alberto Ros Bardisa has offered several proposals to improve the speed of the next generation of computers and reduce energy consumption.
The contributions of this research, which was led by professors José Manuel García Eugenio Carrasco and Manuel Acacio Sánchez, will also get more efficient systems with a larger number of processors and, therefore, with greater computing power.
Ros's doctoral thesis Bardisa proposed solutions to the problems of scalability of current processors.
The doctor performs a four-month stay at the University of Edinburgh (UK) with Professor Marcelo Cintra and had the opportunity to present their proposals in several conferences in their field.
His scientific work has been developed in the framework of the European Network of Excellence on Processor Architecture and Compilers for High Performance.
The doctoral thesis, defended entirely in English, received the highest rating, excellent cum laudem, unanimously and the court was formed, along with several Spanish universities professors, Per Stenström, Professor at Chalmers University (Sweden).
