The Governing Council has given the green light to a grant of 19,000 euros to the Neighborhood Association to promote the sustainable development of Puerto del Garruchal (Adesga), for carrying out awareness actions and environmental education in the Special Protection Area (SPAs) mountain valley and mountains of Altaona and Escalona.
The area is ranked as the second most valuable bird in the Region of Murcia, and one of the most important nationally for its stable populations and dispersal of large prey.
In particular, it emphasizes its population of owls, which led to the protection of this place as SPAs.
The partnership will provide environmental education to locals the values of these places and objectives of the Natura 2000 network, by developing a series of awareness-raising, outreach and environmental education, aimed primarily at preserving the owl.
