Professors at the University of Murcia have won the Prize for Scientific Communication Fighting Bull Symposium, held in Zafra (Badajoz), in a study of biostatistics of the forelimb of the bulls.
To carry out the work, the authors analyzed the thoracic than thirty fighting bulls, twelve bulls and twelve eral.
According to the findings of the investigation, the animals studied "had a greater or lesser extent, poor support of the thoracic limbs."
It was also observed that "the shoulder-hoof angle is less the lower the age and weight of the bull."
The researchers have also concluded that "the medial surfaces of the joints studied bear more stress, which predisposes them to suffer injuries and ligamentous apparatus of the articular cartilage."
