The Office of Environmental Management FMRM promote the implementation of Integrated Environmental Protection Act
Ensure that policies developed in the municipalities conform to criteria of environmental sustainability is the aim of the Autonomous Region, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, and the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia.
For this reason, Antonio Cerda and Miguel Angel House have signed a collaboration agreement to provide technical support to municipalities in environmental qualification work activities, management of environmental permits and environmental project management of the Plans of Action Agendas Local 21.
The aim is to promote programs and activities aimed at sustainable development and the fight to reduce the effects of climate change, providing environmental expertise to municipalities in the region.
With this purpose, the Ministry plans to provide funding for 220,000 euros.
For its part, the Federation of Municipalities was committed to encourage the consolidation of the Municipal Technical Office for the Environment, promoting the autonomy of municipalities in environmental management.
To this end, promote technical assistance to municipalities that are responsible for environmental qualification, either by law or by delegation, for the assumption of this competition.
Moreover, the agreement also requires the commitment of offering FMRM logistical and technical support for the progressive introduction of Integrated Environmental Protection Act in the Region of Murcia from the Office of Environmental Management.
This legislation amends the municipal powers of environmental permits and delves into the coordination between regional and local administration.
Thus, the environmental assessment of activities, including as far in the municipal license, become a municipal jurisdiction in all municipalities.
