The research group 'Morpho-densitometry ultrasound and Preventive' of the UCAM, has won the National Sports Physiotherapy Award for his work 'Error on palpation of the long tendon of biceps brachii.

This work, which competed against other members of several universities, noted for its innovation.
Communication, directed by Ana de Groot, received this prestigious national award, stating that it is not possible to palpation over the biceps tendon, being confused with the existence of facial fibrous cords and deltoid muscle.
This discovery breaks, thus, an axiom of global significance in the field of physical therapy, and its discovery has been made possible by the use of ultrasound applied to the physical therapy tool that the research group is eight years working being pioneers in this field.
The group, composed of researchers Ana de Groot, Jacinto Javier Martinez, Jose Rios and Maria Elena Bath, received the prize in the XI National Conference and I International Congress of Physical of Physical Activity and Sport, held in facilities Spanish Olympic Committee in Madrid.
Researchers have devoted a special way this award to Jose Rios, also the author of this work, which is recovering from an accident.
Similarly, the organization of the Congress was to the teacher about moving words and reminded the audience the important role for physiotherapy in Spain.
