PSRM general secretary of the municipality of Murcia, Pedro Lopez, stated that the Council of Mayors was established as a consultative body of the municipal executive, "from the experience of 16 years which is derived from the management in the municipality of Murcia.
Lopez explained that "the social contribution through our mayors has been instrumental in the development of Murcia, it established the basis of the present city and popular governments have followed, in most cases, the inertia of our proposals" .
The Council of Mayors will meet at least once a month "to advance the project of a" New Murcia "we return to our rightful place by population and values, history and capabilities of our citizens."
"We are the seventh largest city in Spain by population," said Lopez.
Pedro Lopez said that the Council will recall management and projects during the years of socialist mayors in Murcia "to give value to the need for a socialist project that allows us to restart again a modern municipality, sustainable and balanced social and territorially, entrepreneur, designed for the enjoyment of citizenship, and appealing to the youth culture. The Council of Mayors is composed of the former socialist mayor of the municipality of Murcia, as well as the president of the municipal executive, José Luis Albacete, Secretary General of the Executive, Peter Lee, and Secretary of Coordination, Judit Andrea Garri.
