The Department of Sports, headed by Miguel Cascales, offers grants to 52 entities, non-profit sports municipality working to promote the sport.
Essentially these measures are aimed at developing partnerships an important role in grassroots sport, organizing sports schools for children and young people, and equipment maintenance in federated competitions, organization of competitions and sporting events of interest.
Also support is given to the sports federations to organize special events relevant to be held in the municipality.
The awards are given to associations that promote all kinds of sports.
For the award of grants the City Council has taken into account the history of the organization in previous years, the activities carried out in districts, participation in the activities of disadvantaged young people with fewer opportunities and sports facilities and the materials used.
The Governing Board today approved the provisional resolution of the call for grants for a total of 85,000 euros.
