The residents of La Alberca can enjoy a great metropolitan park to be built next to the Rambla del Puerto, near the hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca.
The Planning Department has finally approved a partial plan that will allow construction of homes and obtaining of 64,500 square meters of green areas, an area greater than that of the Garden of Malecon.
In addition, improved access roads to the Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca and La Alberca.
The complex will occupy an area of 800,000 square meters and is located on both sides of the motorway from Cartagena, before the beginning of Puerto de la Cadena, next to the road junction of La Alberca-La Arrixaca.
The new development will feature more than 33,000 square meters of facilities, which will allow the University of Murcia make an expansion of educational equipment together with La Arrixaca.
From this area runs the Cañada Real de Torreagüera, whose route connects the cemetery of La Alberca in El Palmar, and will be protected under the resolution adopted by the General Directorate of Natural Environment, University of Murcia and the Neighborhood Association pool.
The full City Council on Thursday ratified the agreement.
