The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, this morning attended the official opening day stays in the center of "La Paloma Blanca" located in Zarandona.
The event was attended by its director, Maria del Carmen Spain, and the Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana also the Deputy Mayor for Social Welfare Policy and Equality, María del Carmen Pelegrin.
The new center, a private, opened its doors with the intention of providing services in a familiar atmosphere, people who suffer from a neurodegenerative disease, including dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
The promoters of "La Blanca Paloma" has led and managed its construction, which have invested 151,000 euros, with the target set to improve the quality of life of patients and their family and social environment.
It counts with 24 places and will provide service from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 19.30 hours.
The center has a bathroom geriatric rehabilitation room, sitting area with couches for relaxation, treatment room, dining room and multi-use recreational and workshop psychostimulation tasks.
The latter help to exercise and maintain the cognitive abilities of older people, keeping them active.
To this end, the center "La Blanca Paloma" has among its staff with technical director, psychologist, nurse, physical therapist and assistants.
