United Left Greens + (IU + LV) in the city of Murcia has filed a motion in Parliament next October 29 requesting the suspension of municipal tax paid by market traders Malecon craft until they are transferred to San Esteban.
Councillor UI + LV in the capital, Esther Herguedas has indicated that the municipality has "condemned the 50 families living in the traditional market of San Esteban to move the Malecon even knowing that that location did not cover the needs for buyers health and safety. "
He assured that "the most worrying is that the choice of the Malecon as a place for the market seems to respond more to a spirit of ending this activity after the craftsmen did not support the construction of an underground garage in the garden of San Esteban."
In his view, "meanwhile, the city boasts the support provided by the merchants and the self, because for the government team is clear that not all citizens equal and deserve equal treatment."
Therefore, Herguedas has highlighted the need for traders to receive "some kind of compensation" and has requested that the council agree to a new location "in a more suitable and more influx of people" until they finish the construction of parking in San Esteban.
