The Deputy Mayor of Social Welfare and Promotion of Equality, María del Carmen Pelegrin, wanted to accompany the women of San Antolin Center at the beginning of the new academic year 2009-2010.
A beginning has been marked by tributes, music and program of activities, which may engage its more than 300 partners.
The Women's Center of San Antolin, chaired and founded by María Dolores Bolarin, has been working for Murcia neighborhood women for many years but officially since May 14, 2002 when it opened the site located on Frederick Street Balar corner mayonnaise.
During this time the center has advanced in both the number of associates and the quantity and quality of activities that are organized, an average of 20 fixed activities, including seminars, lectures, cultural visits, language classes, workshops painting and reading, and self-esteem courses, among other activities.
The challenge for members is the culture center and comprehensive training of women, we want equal opportunities, reconciliation of work and family and especially the fight against gender violence, so one of the objectives we seek in this virtual space, is to use every means that new technologies offer us to make ourselves heard, share experiences, enhance interpersonal relationships (via email) as well as being the vehicle for the dissemination of minorities.
Specifically, the 29th of October, the center will host a seminar against gender violence.
In addition to a concert, during the evening also paid tribute to two women journalists from media Murcia for the work they have been going on for women.
