The University of Murcia necessary these days to change the operating system of the University Library laptops provided to students and will now have a configuration adapted to your needs.
Changing the Windows to Linux easier especially wireless Internet and provides links to virtual campus "Suma" and other applications, such as consultation of recommended readings in the course guides.
The main reasons have advised this change is that the new operating system is more secure to limit the problems of viruses and assumes a lower cost.
It also achieves full independence from any private or corporate sector, which is not linked to market conditions imposed by software companies.
This decision has been taken by the university authorities after the positive results obtained in the test phase at the Faculty of Economics and Business.
On the other hand, the University of Murcia held these days workshops in their schools to report on the platform, "Sakai, a free software tool for virtual teaching and group work.
