Solana Francisco Ayala (Cartagena), Cristina Granados Galeote (Sevilla) and José Luis Cremades Milla (Valencia) were the winners of the X Prize for Painting and Fine Arts at the University of Murcia (UMU), which awards were presented yesterday at the Palace Almudí.
The councilman of Culture and European Programmes, Fatima Barnuevo, who presided over the ceremony for the awards and opening of the exhibition with the rector Cobacho and Francisco José Antonio Fuentes, President Vicente Fuentes Foundation and sponsor of the event, highlighted during intervention that the tenth annual award reflects the consolidation of the contest, as each edition are presented works and the higher the quality of them.
"Werndnasky Station" is the title of the first prize of 8,000 euros, "Reflections of the Future" and "The march of the penitents" were the two second prize winners, worth 2,000 euros each.
The exhibition, in addition to the three winning works, a selection of other twenty-seven deeds among the 201 who attended the event, and is open to the public at the Palais Almudí until 15 November.
Moreover, the City of Murcia has collaborated with a catalog that includes all the works selected by the jury, which this year has been formed by the art critic and former director of the National Center of Art Reina Sofia Juan Manuel Bonet, painter Antón Patiño, photographer and painter José Manuel Ballester, former director of MUSAC Rafael Doctor, and the head of Almudí Martín Palacio Paez.
