A Muher palm "grows" in the plaza of the Church of Casillas (17/10/2009)

A sculpture of a palm tree adorned Muher signed since 15 October, the Plaza de la Iglesia de Casillas.

The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, accompanied by the artist couple, Francisca Muñoz y Manuel Herrera, opened the book, made of steel cut and oxidized copper.

This palm, which represents the Mediterranean culture, consists of irregular rings that make up a column of about seven meters.

The cup, like that of the original trees, opens in the root ball from where a total of fifteen branches of oxidized copper.

Through the use of weathering steel, which is autooxidative, the trunk takes on a tone very similar to the original palm.

For its part, the branches of natural copper are reinforced, bent and rusted allowing traces appear in the air.

Muher has tried to adapt and networking space sculpture has been placed and, therefore, consists of a single but large palm.

The special features of this work endow it with elegance and gracefulness as each ring, the inclination and the obstacles that can give you a personalized link to the piece.

Remember that the palm is the most typical of Muher and that the municipality already has a sculpture of three palm trees on the sidewalk of the Board The Hammer of the Savings Bank of the Mediterranean since this work was developed as custom CAM, commemorating the anniversary of the death of Miguel Hernández, Orihuela natural.

Thus, the City Council, Mayor's initiative, continued to take the works of great artists to the street contributing to the Murcia and visitors can enjoy a veritable outdoor museum.
