The New Horizon Association will launch a program to improve the autonomy of the deaf through a grant from the municipality (14/10/2009)

Murcia City Council, through the Department of Social Welfare and Equal Opportunities Policy, has signed a collaboration agreement with New Horizon Association of Murcia, with an aid of 11,300 euros, thanks to which it is granted a subsidy that will support the implementation of cultural performances leisure aimed at deaf people to increase their autonomy.

The object pursued by the City Council with the signing of this agreement is to contribute to social integration of this group, promoting their autonomy and personal skills through appropriate use of leisure time to improve their quality of life, while providing respite care primary caregivers, all in a space appropriate to its needs.

Programs that New Horizon Association conducts focus on supporting families, respite care, volunteer training, cultural programs of leisure time, promoting independent living, workshops, participation in traditional activities and sports and body language.
