The Agricultural Engineers Association in the Region of Murcia (COITARM) and the Interprovincial Association for Agroprotección Distributors (AIDA) have put an end to the 'Course Integrated Pest Management' with a closing ceremony, which was developed in the auditorium of the College, which took stock of the objectives achieved with this training initiative, able to achieve the greatest possible number of technical managers of farms and adapt knowledge to put in place in professional practice the new European Union regulations.
One of the challenges that marked the organizers of the 'Course of Integrated Pest Management', the COITARM and AIDA, to implement this activity was to anticipate the enforceability of the new European directive on plant protection, which has scheduled for 2014.
Consequently, this challenge has become, at the same time, in ensuring its success, has experienced a large influx of people, largely because of concerns that are already technicians growing areas by suit to new EU requirements on this issue.
In this sense, the president of COITARM, Guillén Irene Moon, as the CEO of AIDA, Rosa María Hernández Robles, have shown "very satisfied" with the results garnered by the 'Course of Integrated Pest Management', calling, by mutual agreement as "a success, thanks to the large number of professional assistants, who have benefited from the information, awareness and training has been provided in the course of this initiative."
Do not forget that the new Sustainable Use Directive aims to reduce potential risks from the use of pesticides, so it is consistent with the necessary crop protection.
Also, this rule states, when authorizing a plant protection product, prevailing health protection of people and animals and the environment, self-protection against the plantations.
Define its fundamental guidelines
Since last spring approved a so-called EU strategy for sustainable use of pesticides, which is nothing but a drastic reduction in the number of active materials will be available for agriculture, and the number of applications of pesticide treatments to be able to do in the crops, it is necessary to define the basic guidelines that are addressed to these rules and regulations known to all the professionals directly related to this area.
The goal is that all countries have integrated and ecologically sound strategies for pest and vector, and therefore that the professionals working applicators of pesticides are properly trained and protected and be aware of health and environmental impacts that these entail.
Ultimately, it comes to adapting to the evolution of the agricultural sector has suffered in recent years, thanks to the advances provided by research in this field and the new regulations, so that the technical managers of farms know the new requirements that will require the European directive.
