200,000 euros to restore the Church of Carmen de Murcia (09/10/2009)

The regional government has authorized a grant of 200,000 euros to the Bishop of Cartagena for the restoration of the Church of Carmen de Murcia.

The work will include repairing roofs and high walls, to remedy its flaws.

The total budget for the work amounts to 334,828 euros.

The present church was built between 1721 and 1790 in Baroque style houses works by Francisco Salzillo and Nicolas de Bussy, among other authors.
