In order to carry out conservation, restoration, environmental awareness and outreach in the city of Murcia, the Department of Education and crew, who heads Megía Pilar, will renew its partnership agreement with the Association Columbrares.
The association operates a Center for Solar Energy and Environment, dedicated primarily to the study and dissemination of environmental issues, highlighting among others the management of water, energy and waste, combating erosion and desertification, restoration of rural life and enhancement of biodiversity.
This center, named Fountain of Columbares ", is located in the geographical center of the Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) of" The Valley and Sierras de Altaona and Escalona "in the municipality of Murcia.
This center is part of the Network of Nature's Classroom of the Region of Murcia, which are involved in the dissemination of knowledge, dissemination and education on native species, characteristics of the area and living conditions of the same, all within the framework of Environmental Education.
The beneficiaries of the agreement will be educational institutions, associations of any kind (housewives, youth, senior citizens, cultural, etc.) Or other groups or entities located in the municipality of Murcia, which is free to stay for a day center or reductions will apply 40% of the normal rate for stays of two or more days.
For groups visiting the center as part of the Summer Schools, the reduction is 50%.
By signing this collaboration agreement is achieved and provide the municipality's citizens access to new resources in the field of environmental education in such important topics as: the implementation of renewable energy, efficient use of water, fight erosion and desertification, waste management and biodiversity conservation.
