Murcia City Council continues to eliminate architectural barriers in the city with an initiative that facilitates the passage of pedestrians while respecting the growth and care of trees.
Drainage for the pavement of trees and tree pits installed in the streets of Belluga and Santo Domingo, Santa Catalina and Las Flores, and leveling the sidewalk to the area of land surrounding the plant, has begun installing in today's Paseo de Alfonso X.
This will avoid obstacles and take advantage of more efficient public space, as this pavement eliminates the problems caused by the sidewalk tree pits as a barrier to urban development in narrow or busy streets.
The installation of this type of pavement drainage for alcorques placed in very specific areas of special relevance in the municipality.
The installation process begins by cleaning and beautifying the land base that is filled with gravel.
On this layer is installed drainage and new pavement smoothing, which has a contractile ring protector.
The last phase of installation is the drying of the binder.
This will cover the hollow tree, level with the ground and removing the barrier.
