More than 69,000 children and youth in the municipality made free sporting activities at municipal facilities through the sports program and sports pavilions holding the Department of Sports, headed by Miguel Cascales.
This initiative was developed during the school year and is aimed at students of primary, secondary and high school.
The activities are usually performed in the afternoon of 17 to 21 hours.
The objective of this program is to create new sporting habits and a sporting culture in children and young people based on education and daily work.
The activities done by children and young people are: athletics, football, golf, basketball, handball, snooker, fencing, football, gymnastics, judo, badminton, dance, karate, wrestling, skating, fitness, tennis, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball and beach volleyball.
Moreover, these activities must be added the domestic championship for the school, the school regional championship (in their early municipal), and the school championship 'Ciudad de Murcia'.
Sports schools are also held in schools, water sports and 13 drawing and painting contest Sports.
The activities take place in Murcia municipal facilities and districts.
